Sistas in Zion Radio! Celebrates Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! Today we'll be featuring different perspectives on Mothers and Mother's Day. 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Mountain Time), listen live here and call in at (646) 478-3671. Our special guests include:

Lola Parker
You might know her as Jabari Parker's mother, but we know her as much, much more. She's a wife, working Mother of four (Christian, Iman, Tilah and Jabari), active in her faith and doing her best to raise her children on the South Side of Chicago. Lola will share her unique experiences and she won't be sugar coating it because Lola always keeps it real!

Katie Byrge
She's a wife, Mother and RN. While her children and spouse always make the holiday a hit for her, recently losing her Mother, Sally Ball Vranes to cancer has changed how she celebrates Mother's Day. Her Mother's only daughter, Katie will be on with 6 year old Brittea, her only daughter, as they share ways to honor Mothers who have passed on.

Roxann Jarvis

A mother of 4 children who all seem to be going in different directions at the same time. Roxann will  talk to us about mothering in her unique family, and how she manages to keep them all happy, and herself from going insane.

We also have a panel of teens and young adults who will share their take on relationships with Mothers.

Be sure to call in to chat with our guests!

Mormon Prayers

If you've ever been to an LDS potluck, activity or ward function, then you've probably heard or said this prayer before. We'd even put money on it (not our tithing money though) that Mormons aren't the only faith to say this prayer...lol.

This could mean one of two things:

1. That there is waaaaayyyyy to much junk food at church functions.

 or

 2. That we truly believe in the power of prayer and the Lord's ability to work miracles!

Ya'll tell us which one it is?

Glory, Glory Hallelujah,
