Sara Vranes was born and raised in San Francisco, but is now a transplant in Provo, Utah. A feminist since the moment she could talk, she has always had a particular interest in women's health. In the past ten years she has graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Sociology and International Development, organized petitions and political rallies, fought to save the Women's Research Institute at BYU (long story...), began work as a doula and lactation specialist, lived in India studying childbirth and breastfeeding, served a mission for the LDS church in West Texas and New Mexico, and is currently pursuing a degree in midwifery from the Midwives College of Utah, working as an apprentice with a Salt Lake midwife. Sara is an enthusiastic fan of her nieces and nephews, seeking truth, bike riding, yoga, and photography. Meaning, you should really just check our her instagram: @sarabrains.

SiZ Radio: Jennifer Borget, Baby Making Machine + Meres-Sia Gabriel, Author of "I Twirl in the Smoke"

Jennifer Borget is a news reporter and anchor by day, and a mom 24/7. In 2008 when her career dreams were getting clouded by baby fever she decided to start a blog documenting her thoughts. Thus Baby Making Machine, was born. She officially became a "baby making machine" in 2010 with the birth of her daughter and Jennifer recently welcomed kiddo number 2, a bouncing baby boy. Now her blog shares her journey through motherhood, trial and errors of becoming a Domestic Diva, and her busy life doing the mom thing while juggling a competitive career.

Meres-Sia Gabriel is an author, musical poet and public speaker. In 2011, she published a book of poems and stories entitled I Twirl in the Smoke. She has been invited to perform and speak at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, in Ashland, Oregon; The University of the Earth in Chiapas, Mexico; and at the EDELO Cultural Center in San Cristobal, Mexico. She also teaches creative writing workshops throughout the Bay Area. A high school French teacher for nine years, Meres-Sia has taken a break from the classroom to pursue her artistic passions. She is now working on an album.

Al Fox & Fiancé, Ben Carraway + Happy Father's Day!

First off, happy Father's Day to all the daddies out there! Today the Sistas are chatting with the one and only Al Fox and the love her life, soon to be hubby, Ben Carraway!

Al Fox is still sharing the Gospel by using the internet for good. Al joined the LDS church 3 years ago and writes and video blogs about her journey of faith. Al is from Rochester, NY and currently lives in Utah.

Using the internet for good definitely has it's perks Al met her fiancé Ben on Facebook and let's just say it was love at first "like"! Ben grew up in West Valley, Utah and served an LDS mission in Philadelphia, PA.

Long Promised Day

This coming Saturday marks 35yrs that the priesthood was extended to all worthy men. As we reflect on the progression of things in our church, we are filled with love and gratitude toward our Brotha's & Sista's in this gospel. We have always been bombarded with questions regarding the priesthood from both members and non-members. Many want to know how the revelation impacted our lives (even though one of us was not yet born and the other wasn't even in kindergarten yet) , we've tried to the best of our ability to answer the questions that have been thrown our way. Although it isn't always easy to be put on the spot with questions such as these, it does give and has given us opportunities to consider our feelings about the priesthood revelation, as well as understand the relationship that we'd like to have with the organization. Having opportunities to speak to others regarding our thoughts about certain aspects of our church's history has strengthened our testimonies. We realize that not everyone has been given the opportunity to have the discussion about the priesthood revelation in a safe environment. We would like to extend an opportunity to all of you to share your thoughts and feelings on the "Long Promised Day" the day that all worthy males (Black Men) were extended priesthood opportunities. Please share your thoughts on the revelation, and what it meant/means to you. Is it something that you think about? Do you think it has had an impact on your life?

Alone n' Single

In 2012's fall session of the LDS church's General Conference it was announced that girls are now eligible for mission service at age 19. As Mormon men found themselves "dumped" by girlfriends who had now decided to serve missions, Alone n' Single was born. The band members include Kyle Naylor, Eric Williams, Brad Dutson, and David Cline. They just released their single "She's Going on a Mission."

Bishop Dalyn Montgomery

Dalyn Montgomery studied communications at the University of Utah, and race relations in higher education at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Philadelphia where he works as an admissions recruiter for the Keck Graduate Institute of the Claremont Colleges. He has published articles in the Deseret News, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, and Rugby Magazine. He is the author of the blog Brohammas.com. He was raised in Sandy Utah, served a mission in Atlanta Georgia, and has a smoking hot wife and two adorable daughters.
